Our training provides professionals with the knowledge and resources to facilitate a MacKillop Seasons program so they can support children, young people and adults experiencing change, loss and grief. We provide a calendar of scheduled training workshops and we endeavour to support schools and communities with requests to deliver tailored group events.

Seasons for Growth Children and Young People's Program

Children & Young People Companion Training

Online

Train ONLINE to become a certified Seasons for Growth Companion in the Children and Young People's Program. This professional development training is delivered over two consecutive days by an authorised Trainer and enables educators and professionals to facilitate the Seasons for Growth small group program in their schools or communities. Children & Young People Companion Training

Face to Face

FACE TO FACE training to become certified to deliver the Seasons for Growth program to children and young people.

Strengthen your capacity to support children and young people to navigate change, grief and loss by becoming a certified Seasons Companion. Companions are trained to deliver the Seasons for Growth small-group, social-emotional learning (SEL) program to children and young people. Training is suitable for educators, chaplains, counsellors, pastoral & wellbeing staff, community, social and youth workers.

Delivered over two consecutive days by an authorised MacKillop Seasons Trainer, the training provides you with the knowledge, skills and materials required to facilitate the Seasons for Growth small-group program for children and young people within your school or community settings.

The Seasons for Growth Children and Young People's Program is an evidence-informed small-group, social-emotional learning (SEL) program for children and young people - delivered by a trained Companion - that helps child and youth participants understand and respond to experiences of change, loss and grief while building their resilience, emotional literacy and coping skills. Seasons for Life - Supplementary Session

Online

This 2-hour (suicide focused) ONLINE session FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS ONLY has been designed to build the knowledge and capacity of trained Companions when running Seasons for Growth groups with young people who have experienced a loss by suicide. This session is offered under the Seasons for Life initiative funded under the National Suicide Prevention Leadership Support Program by the Dept of Health and Aged Care. Additional implementation support will be provided by the Seasons for Life State Coordinator. For more information read about Seasons for Life.

Please note: This session is part of the Seasons for Life initiative and as such participants are invited to participate in an external evaluation and Principal endorsement is required.

Seasons for Healing

Face to Face

Attend the FACE TO FACE training to become a certified Seasons for Healing Companion. Seasons for Healing is a culturally informed small group education program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults to navigate the journey and experiences of change, loss and grief. This professional development training is delivered over two consecutive days by Mackillop Seasons Cultural Trainers, in a small group environment. The training enables participants to facilitate the Seasons for Healing small group program in community. For more information read about Seasons for Healing.

Each ONLINE Professional Learning session focuses on a specific topic to deepen your capacity as a Companion. These sessions are complimentary to trained Companions in the Seasons for Growth or Stormbirds programs.

Community of Practice

Online

Community of Practice sessions are ONLINE, open-forum discussions offered complimentary to trained companions. These sessions provide an opportunity for Companions to connect with other Companions and a MacKillop Seasons Trainer.

Parent Companion Training

Online

Train ONLINE to become a Seasons for Growth Companion in the Parent Program Component 1 Separation and Divorce and Component 2 Bereavement. This professional development training is delivered in one day by an authorised Trainer and enables educators and professionals to facilitate the Seasons for Growth Parent Program within their communities.
