On 14 November 2022, a tsunami-like flood swept through the rural central west NSW town of Eugowra. The force of the water was so strong that it swept away homes and vehicles. Businesses, the local Catholic school, the town’s preschool and many homes were destroyed by the flood, having devastating and heartbreaking impacts on the community.

St Joseph’s Primary School, Eugowra Principal Cathy Eppelstun, invited us to spend a day with them to capture their reflections on the event, rebuilding their school and how the Stormbirds program has assisted in the road to recovery.
