Children & Young People - Secondary Focus

It is an awesome program and would highly recommend it to other communities to support vulnerable children.

Train ONLINE to become a certified Seasons for Growth Companion in the Children and Young People's Program. This professional development training is delivered over two consecutive days by an authorised Trainer and enables educators and professionals to facilitate the Seasons for Growth small group program in their schools or communities.
This is a specialised training with a focus on the needs of secondary school students - the training program covers the same content as our core Children & Younge People Companion Program but focuses on example activities from Level 4 (ages 13-18 years).
Included: Companion manual and program journal(s), online delivery via Zoom, GST

Seasons for Growth provides the support and space for children and young people to:
  • Learn about how different people respond to change, loss and grief
  • Understand that it is normal to experience a range of grief reactions
  • Explore new approaches to dealing with change, loss and grief in their lives
  • Build communication, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Participate in a supportive network of peers and adults
  • Integrate their new learning into their relationships with family, friends and others.
  • To successfully participate, you will need your own computer, with camera and microphone, and reliable internet access. All participants are required to have the camera on at all times during the training. For effective participation in breakout rooms and to ensure attendance is correctly recorded, please do not share a computer.
  • Ensure you are available to attend the FULL TWO consecutive days as this is a requirement of your certification to deliver the program. We are unable to provide you with a training certificate if you do not fully attend.  If you miss a portion of the training, you will be required to re-book and complete another TWO FULL days of training.
  • If you are attending from interstate or overseas, we recommend this handy time converter to check the exact time of the online training in your city.
  • Please practice self-care and be mindful of your personal circumstances, including any current grief.  If you have experienced a major loss or change recently, be aware that the training contains references to topics that some people may find upsetting.  We recommend attending 2-12 months post a significant life event.  Please contact us if you are unsure about this and would like to speak to a Team Member.
  • Once you have registered, you will receive a link to some pre-reading and a pre-training survey.  Please complete the survey prior to joining the training as this contains important information relevant for your Trainer.
